BOX NOODLES

I consider it ironic that they have cafes, diners, restaurants and bars on a place called Cook Street.

For all that do not know Cook Street is situated in the heart of the City Centre of Cork which is of Saint Patrick Street.

Box Noodles is a New Asian street food place situated at the old Ambassador Chinese Restaurant.

When one enters this new establishment you will be greeted by nice kind friendly staff who point you a table and the hand you a menu.

They have this lunch special marked each day from 12noon to 4pm daily which is marked cheaper than on the menu which is E7.50 and on top of that you get an ice cream and a drink of your choice.

When i was last there I chose the Chicken katsu curry dish which is a Japanese dish and it happened to be on the menu special that day.

I am like most Irish people who is dubious about Asian food due to the mono sodium glutamate content in most Asian food places but it happens so they don't put it this place and you can really taste the difference and it is high quality food to say the least.

I am a big man and they bring down enough food to feed 3 people in my opinion and at the end of eating it i licked my lips and walked out of there feeling really good inside. you know you have eaten good stuff when your body tells you you feel good.

i always have green tea with the selection as i am not too fond of fizzy drinks at all and the nice kind lady will come around and give you a nice refill which is what i like about the place.
The ice cream is a very smart move especially if you have eaten spicy or chilly type food as the ice-cream helps relieve the burning sensation associated with chilly/ spicy type foods.

The Kastu Curry is not that strong i must say as it kind of reminds me of a light gravy type. It was superb and it reminded me very much if Irish stew and I wonder did the Japanese get the idea from the Irish. the only difference is that being rice instead of potatoes and curry instead of gravy and in Irish stew there is lamb and turnips and in this dish there is chicken and courgettes.

Even though they just started their business there a short while ago I can predict great things for this place in the immediate future should they serve food of that quality to gratifying customers.

In mister Crow's humble opinion it is his favourite place to eat in Cork City at the moment and the food in there is to die for.

Also the staff in there come around and politely ask is everything ok and they also offer you a place to hang your coat and place your umbrella. I know it is a small thing to consider but when one visits someones house the first thing they do is offer a place to hang your coat to me that is manners personified.

Ireland is starting to lack in the manners department in my opinion and it has become low quality BS in my opinion and we as a people need to learn this aspect of ourselves again 'yours truly ' included

The Crowometer score a perfect 10 for this place.

CHALLENGE THE CROW

Kevin Cronin a native of Barrack Street Area of Cork City in Ireland hjas come up with an idea called Challenge the Crow, The idea is based upon his desire to do the million things before you die idea and record it on camera for all too see.

a range of sports he can play as part of that

Darts, Snooker , pool (all variations), Billiards, Table football, Boxing, UFC etc... anything that has a a one on one basis. the whole idea is the 2 people would raise money for a chosen charity then have it captured on film .

The whole thing would take about 8 weeks to do from beginning to end .

Of course he is not singled out to just sports he will do various singing and dnacing challenges also.

The first one will be an encounter with a Cork native in a darts match to experiment then go from there . hopefully by this time 2 years he will be a global sensation.

Nessun Dorma is his first real challenge, then the dance n Saturday Night fever,

The darts match he and his opponent will try and raise money for a good cause.

Of course the challenge is the ultimate in his life he is trying to propose he can beat anyone at anything and the participant who ever dares to play against him will recieve a tee shirt with Challenge The Crow on it, a gold or silver trophy with a pair- of testicles on it for having the balls to attempt to even think they can beat him.

let us hope it can go well..

Crow will accept most challenges.

he will even go to a kids house and play him at table tennis or snooker in front of his family or chess or PlayStation soccer ... things like that.

Is there nonone on this planet able to even challenge me?

breakfast at PANA @ THE PAV.

The night before I had been on a fast as I had to get blood tested so i had not eaten in 15 hours.

Today at 12pm i finished my blood test and I was famished and I decided to try out the new place PANA@ THE PAV, which is situated off Saint Patrick Street in Cork City in aside street called Carey's Lane.

whilst there I ordered The Full Irish Breakfast, I normally do not eat frys but since i did not eat for 12 or so hours I had it as a treat.

I awaited for my food for over about 10-15 minutes when it got to me it was in these cool looking plates and the food was absolutely delicious, on top of that came the toast and a bowl of baked beans.. there was enough food for 3 people on that plate... And then something i never tried before spring onions with a fried egg which enhanced the food.

I licked my lips and left.

the only thing i didn't like was when i got tea i had to pay separate for the tea with the breakfast and normally that would be included in the price. 9.95 was reasonable but then they added the 2euro price on to that with the tea.

The food was outstanding and i will give the overall rating of 8/10.

2 points deducted for the tea price separate to the breakfast  and Length of time had to await my food.

however if you are in the city of cork anytime I highly recommend it.
